Aurisus began with a question that would shape everything that followed: what makes intelligence possible, and how far could a deeper understanding of it take us?
Founded on April 1, 2025, by Edem Evans in Ghana, Aurisus started as an ambition to build and explore ideas in science and technology. At the time, its founder was still in high school, working with limited resources and teaching himself to code while trying to turn that ambition into a company.
The early work gradually led towards a more fundamental subject: intelligence. How does it emerge? How do living systems learn, adapt and make sense of their surroundings? And what can the principles behind these abilities teach us about building new forms of intelligence?
These questions became the focus of Project Instinct, Aurisus's first research initiative. It examined how intelligence arises in nature and explored the principles that could inform the development of artificial intelligence. The project provided a foundation for further inquiry and helped clarify the direction of the company's research.
Today, Aurisus is a research-first intelligence company. Its work is guided by the belief that understanding intelligence at a deeper level can open new directions in science and technology. The questions may span different disciplines, but intelligence remains the central subject of our pursuit.
Aurisus is still at an early stage. We continue to develop our research, build our capabilities and work towards ideas that can contribute to a broader understanding of intelligence.
